Webcam in Debian distros

Install webcams in Linux before was difficult, but if you know some history Tux, know that thanks to Michel Xhaard, a French not hired by any company, we can run some 200 cameras in Linux.

But we can now easily do.

I will describe the steps of installing a webcam in Debian (which is my distro) but I guess it may well serve other distros.

1. We installed our favorite program installation (Debian apt-get, aptitude or synaptic) the drivers gspca match our architecture (my architecture is amd64)
ex. aptitude install gspca-modules-2.6-amd64
apt-get install gspca-modules-2.6-amd64
or graphically with Synaptic
I recommend that before you put what I seek webcam in Debian the package and the name that you have

2. Install the program camorama

ex. aptitude install camorama
apt-get install camorama
or graphically with Synaptic
I recommend that before you put what I seek webcam in Debian the package and the name that you have

And finally runs camorama

ex. camorama
or graphically from Applications -> Graphics -> camorama Webcam Viewer (valid both Gnome and KDE)
What it was not difficult? Compared to what it may cost you install a wireless (if you get it installed) this is easier to install than even Windows (no need to go looking for the driver, are all included). Thanks Michel, an excellent job (recommendation: a good half pillaos camera, not like mine that if you do not not see, face, or webcam in Debian spectrum).
