Stored WMA files

What is WMA format?

The WMA is an audio compression system with which music can be stored next to CD quality.

Like MP3, it works basically eliminating the sounds that are not perceived by the human ear, with the consequent drop in the space occupied on a hard drive, and also in audio quality, although the latter is practically imperceptible.

As you play a WMA file

To play WMA files, you need to have a player program, and despite being a format created by Microsoft, it is not necessary to have Windows Media Player to play only.
At present the majority of audio players recognize the WMA format and allow playback.

Some common programs, apart from the latter which comes bundled with every version of Windows, are Winamp and VLC. Both can be downloaded for free and have the ability to play WMA files.
