View file extensions in WindowsThe process to change this option and see the extension of the files in Windows Explorer is very simple.
For all files. First we go to My Computer, select Tools and Folder Options on the popup menu.
A window with files, from which we select the one that says view opens. More advanced options are displayed, and there must disable the option that says hide file extensions for known file types. Then we press accept and already we can see files with extensions.
For a particular file type. If we want to always show the extension for a particular file type, we must go to Tools, Folder Options and then File Types. The list of existing file types will be displayed, so you have to find the type of file you want to always show the extension. Once marked select Advanced Options and in the window that appears mark Always show extension.
