Disable automatic playback of CD or DVD options to open

When you insert a CD or DVD into a drive, Windows will automatically read your content and give us several options to open, which can slow your reading because it does not let us do anything with the disc until you finish reading all the content. In addition, the window appears with the options can be a bit annoying, because when we are performing other tasks are displayed at once.

To disable the automatic disc playback in Windows XP, we go to the Run command and write gpedit.
msc
Then we go to Computer Configuration – Administrative Templates – System and in the list on the right double click on Turn off Autoplay.

Subsequently, a screen can enable this option to take effect change (enable to disable) will open.

Also here we can choose the units to which we assign this function, in case readers have two CD-DVD and only want a non autoplay.
