How to convert 3-pin 4-pin Molex

Computer fans use either a 3-pin or 4-pin Molex cable to connect to the computer. Some fans are connected to a 3-pin slot on the motherboard, while others are connected directly to the mains.

An adapter cable 3-pin to 4-pin Molex fan cable converts a 4-pin to 3-pin, allowing you to connect to the motherboard.
The adapter also turns the fan cable 3 pin power connector to a 4-pin, allowing you to connect to the mains.
